Hello.
We're coldpie.
We're pleased to meet you.
coldpie is a web agency based in London. We design websites, build software, write documentation and provide consultancy on all aspects of the web. We can tell you how you can improve your current website and help you to build something useful. We build sites that look good, people enjoy using and help to increase revenue.
coldpie is run by Chris Martin, an experienced software developer. He is ably assisted by Emma Clark who has many years experience in web design and building usable, accessible and great looking sites. For each project we get together the right team of the best and most experienced professionals for the task at hand.
We work well with Fresh Bread Marketing in Devon for all things marketing, print and design. We often work with Jean-Michel Dentand, an experienced graphic and web designer. Where possible we use Kelvin Jones for technical assistance and a higher plane of programming. If you think you could work well with coldpie, whether as a client, designer, marketeer or developer then get in touch. We like interesting people.
A potted history
Chris built his first website with a friend in 2000. It was called friday12pm and was a collaborative website for budding writers who were required to submit “something”/“anything” for review every friday at 12pm. At its peak the site had around 60 loyal users and Chris was bitten by the bug. You can see a version of the site using the wayback-machine
coldpie was originally created as a side-project, offering websites on a freelance basis initially to friends, family and then thankfully paying clients. Between 2001 and 2007, Chris grew his skills working for a variety of agencies as front-end developer, designer, web-software developer and project manager (sometimes all in the same role). Chris grew coldpie bit by bit – taking on more clients, working with other developers and designers and generally getting his feet and then his legs wet. Before long coldpie was swimming and Chris found he was good at knowing how the web and websites worked and he enjoyed it.
In February 2007 – coldpie became the full time concern and Chris started building software for a variety of industries and companies gaining clients as diverse as Paramount Comedy in London and Espresso Apartments in Melbourne.
Chris also helped to create Wink Creative an agency specialising in software for the education market. Wink Creative is now part of coldpie.
We’re not exactly sure where the coldpie name came from – but its one word with a small ‘c’.
So now you know.
