- software, front-end build, hosting, support & design: coldpie
Swordfish Editing’s recent web-build is split into three area’s. The first is their public facing website which shows off the work they do and the editors that do it. The front-end site displays example films, animatics and visualisations the company has completed for a variety of clients including McDonalds, Timberland, The BBC and Coca-Cola.
The second part of the site is a secure client area for Swordfish’s clients so that they can quickly and easily view films in progress.
Both of these elements are managed via the third area, the back office system, which coldpie built to tie it all together. The build uses coldpie’s “production company software” in conjunction with our “content management system”
Front-end features
The front-end website includes content managed pages, such as News, Awards and Fish Facts, with more visually striking pages to show off the companies work. The animatics, visualisations and mood-film sections, for example, show preview images along with the ability for the user to click to see a larger example of the work or where appropriate examples clips in quicktime. Swordfish have full control over this content being able to add, edit, hide, reorder or delete images, clips and text at any point.
Client area features
Swordfish are able to create individual client areas for each job they create. This allows admin staff to upload clips and documents of works in progress for clients and agencies to review. Swordfish are able to upload as many bits and types of media for a job and group work into folders if they want. The client area allows agencies and clients to see all available work at a glance and view films within the browser or download for later viewing.
Admin area features
Through the admin area, Swordfish staff are able to add, edit and remove both clients and content. In addition they can see recent client activity, edit standard reference data such as default job folder options and also preview client pages.
